Handmade terracotta roof tiles
Giodi handmade terracotta roof tiles are made for those who need to complete or restore a historic roof, or who are looking for a hand-painted tile to use as a décor piece. We make them the way they were made in the past: clay shaped by hand, slow drying and kiln firing.
When an industrial tile is not enough
On the roofs of rural houses, Venetian villas and listed buildings, an industrial tile is immediately visible: too regular, too uniform in colour. Handmade roof tiles instead have a slightly irregular curve, a porous surface and firing shades that allow new pieces to blend with the original ones without visible breaks. This is why they are sought after by restoration contractors, heritage authorities and studios working on historic buildings.
Decorated tiles
Alongside roofing tiles we produce hand-decorated tiles: painted with landscapes, floral motifs, coats of arms or custom lettering, they are a popular gift and display item in garden centers, quality souvenir shops and corporate gifting. They can be personalised with the client's name or logo.

How we make them
Each tile starts as a slab of clay rolled out and shaped by hand over a curved mould, as was done in the kilns of the past. After slow drying, which prevents cracks and warping, the tiles are fired in the kilns of our workshop in Nove. Decorated tiles receive their brush-painted design and a second firing to fix the colours. We produce to order and agree delivery times based on quantity.
